A quiet weekend – not much painting but some nesting going on...

We are both knackered this weekend. It's a busy time of year plus we are contending with a new job, Christmas retail and weekend seminars in the past few weeks which have all really taken it out of us. There were initial thoughts of getting the full first coat of paint on the kitchen and dining areas today but in all honesty we were too tired to even think of picking up a paint brush.

Instead a little R'n'R was required with sleeping in, a cooked breakfast and then more sleeping till after lunch! Whoops!

But we have achieved some minor projects. One of which was getting Jeremy's box of woodwork and metal work projects out of the shed (from his high school days) and choosing some pieces to display inside. His technical skills are pretty good and we decided on his metal crafted aeroplane and motorbike to display on the lounge shelf which has been looking a bit bare and neglected since we painted it.

Along with a recent holiday photo and some cards its a collection of things that bring back some good memories!

We have also been looking through a book Jeremy was given for his birthday from some friends. It's called Young House Love, written by an American couple who also started out blogging about their first home renovations. It's got some good before and after photos and inspirational ideas for low budget make-overs.  Unfortunately it seems they have actually stopped blogging - after renovating 4 houses!
